Master Plan
Milwaukee County has initiated an Airport Master Plan Update to guide future development at Lawrence J. Timmerman Airport, as an important component of Milwaukee County’s aviation system. Economic development in southeastern Wisconsin and growth in general aviation demand are among the drivers spurring an update of MWC’s previous master plan. A comprehensive Master Plan Update will help to ensure that MWC continues to operate safely and efficiently by formulating a cohesive and flexible plan that supports the Airport’s development and adaptation as aviation demand grows and evolves.
A Master Plan serves as a framework that guides decision-making as development needs and opportunities emerge. The time has come to define the future of the Airport to ensure that it is positioned to support growth in the Milwaukee area and the southeastern Wisconsin region. This approach is essential to maintain the Airport’s role as a vital component of Milwaukee’s and Wisconsin’s aviation system.
The Master Plan Update will focus on the future, ensuring the Airport is prepared to meet general aviation demand, provide opportunities for current and future tenants, enhance customer service for the community and airport users, and optimize the use of Airport infrastructure and resources in an operationally, financially, and environmentally sustainable manner.
